Proceeds to benefit San Miguel High School
San Miguel High School is a private, Catholic High School that provides a quality college and career preparatory education to students from low-income families. Established in 2004, San Miguel is sponsored by the Brothers of Christian Schools and employs the corporate work-study model of the Cristo Rey Network of college and career preparatory schools. Each student is required to work five days per month at an entry-level position in a professional work setting; the wages earned by students pay for approximately forty percent of their tuition. By the end of four years at San Miguel, graduates are ready to enter a university environment with confidence in their educational preparedness and a determination to succeed in their chosen field. Since its opening ten years ago, San Miguel has maintained a 98% graduation rate. Of its 347 total graduates, 100% have been accepted to college and 80% are the first in their family to do so.
